Emotional Healing Therapies

“Make yourselves nests of pleasant thoughts!  None of us yet know, for none of us have been taught in early youth, what fairy palaces we may build of beautiful thoughts, proof against all adversity;  bright fancies, satisfied memories, noble histories, faithful sayings, treasure-houses of prescious and restful thoughts, which care cannot disturb, nor pain make gloomy, nor poverty take away from us;  houses built without hands, for our souls to live in.” – John Ruskin

Emotional HealingEmotional Healing Therapies Are Critically Important

Our emotions predict our physical health. Our emotional health is the number one indicator of whether we will be healthy or sick, whether we will live or die. Consequently it is imperative that we think good thoughts. Our thoughts need to be optimistic and cheerful.

Let The Thorns Alone!

An early health reformer, Ellen White, told of a dream that she had that pictures the difference our outlook makes:

“Many, walking along the path of life, dwell upon their mistakes and failures and disappointments, and their hearts are filled with grief and discouragement. While I was in Europe, a sister who had been doing this, and who was in deep distress, wrote to me, asking for some word of encouragement. The night after I had read her letter I dreamed that I was in a garden, and one who seemed to be the owner of the garden was conducting me through its paths. I was gathering the flowers and enjoying their fragrance, when this sister, who had been walking by my side, called my attention to some unsightly briers that were impeding her way. There she was mourning and grieving. She was not walking in the pathway, following the guide, but was walking among the briers and thorns. ‘Oh,’ she mourned, ‘is it not a pity that this beautiful garden is spoiled with thorns?’ Then the guide said, ‘Let the thorns alone, for they will only wound you. Gather the roses, the lilies, and the pinks.’”

Ellen White stated over a hundred years ago that 90% of sickness originated in the mind.  The passing years prove that statement more and more true.  Our mental outlook truly determines our health.  This is the greatest truth among emotional healing therapies.

Well, It Is A Good Idea But….

It is easier to know what we should do but harder to actually do it.  So the obvious question is, “How do we manage a cheerful attitude in a pessimistic, downcast world the constantly attacks us?  How do we gather roses when we’ve lost the pathway and are in a thorn patch?”  It is then that we least feel like being joyful over roses.

“Our body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. Disease and health, like circumstances, are rooted in thought.” – Dr. Archibald Hart

Emotional Healing

We Must Have Joy

But living upbeat, hopeful lives is what we  must do.  Emotional healing therapies are so crucial to health that this website would be missing the main point and totally out of balance without talking about them.  So on these pages are some thought and ideas on how to embrace positive emotional healing.

First, lets explore some ideas on how to live a happy life despite our circumstances. Then, a look at how nixing our negative emotions can reduce our pain. And some impressive overlooked research explains how unresolved emotional conflict precipitates just about every disease known.

How responsible we have learned to be and how we participate in our relationships are other indicators of how good we feel and our overall health. And our relationship with our children predicts their emotional health.

Finally, the fields of kinesiology and electricity offer bright prospects for overcoming emotional obstacles. They present fascinating options in movement toward emotional healing.

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”   – Charles R. Swindoll
