Power for the Engines of Creation

The sun cycle runs our life.  Without the sun there would be no life.  Science tells us that sunlight is as important to our health as oxygen and water. Since time began the sun has been revered as a god because of its life giving impregnation of the earth.  And certainly the sun is like a god as it supplies the energy that runs the engines of creation.

A Savior, Not A Destroyer

The sun cycle in our world keeps us well.  Sunlight prevents many diseases.  Some scientists are saying that to completely block the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight can cause more health problems than it prevents.  Sunlight causes vitamin D production in the body, which aids bone health, immune function, and blood pressure regulation.  It is also responsible for other crucial health benefits beyond this.

Here are the other foundational therapies:

Nutrition | Exercise | Water | Temperance | Air | Rest | Trust in Divine Power

A Vital Rhythm

The sun cycle sustains the cycle of plant and animal life.  Sunlight is of utmost importance for the metabolism and hormonal balance of the body.  We all have a biological clock that is affected by the sun.  It is known as the circadian cycle and it tells our bodies what to do at different times of the day and night.

Sun Cycle 2Mess With The Rhythm And Ruin The Song

When not enough natural light enters the body during the daytime, it disrupts that rhythm. This is because sunlight affects the levels of the hormones that influence our mood, energy, nervous function, appetite, and many other things.  When this happens, for reasons of climate or lifestyle, we can experience physiological disruptions that manifest in:

  • Erratic sleep patterns
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Apathy
  • Introversion
  • Decreased sexual desire
  • Low self esteem
  • Depression
  • Touchiness
  • Anxiety
  • Low metabolism

Sun CycleLive On The Sunny Side

In countries with dark winters, these symptoms get so bad that levels of alcoholism, depression, and suicidal feelings become epidemic.  Because of this, it is important to live in a house that gets plenty of sunlight and ventilation in every room.  A home should be on the sunny side of the hill.  It is essential for the cheerfulness and vitality of all living there.  To sleep in a sunless room that cannot be aired out is to risk health.   Make it a priority to live in a home like this.

Tips for getting enough sun:

  • Increase time outdoors
  • Use sunglasses only when necessary
  • Spend your home time in rooms with the most sun.
  • Try to spend your wakeful hours in the daylight.
  • Make sure your house is well lit.
  • Use full spectrum light bulbs.  For a lot of us, our location itself prohibits us getting the kind of sun we need.  Full spectrum light bulbs is one practical solution that can make a dramatic improvement in the way we feel.  There are two kinds of full spectrum light bulbs, fluorescent and incandescent.
  • Use mirrors to create more light.
  • Decorate with bright colors and pictures.

Worried About Too Much Sun?

Although research is showing us that our diet is more to blame than the sun for disease, there is still the practical concern of burning your skin.  Staying out of the sun at peak times and wearing protective clothing are two options.  But when we have no other choice but to be in the sun, some sunscreen is in order.  Not just any sunscreen, as the majority have ingredients so toxic that they become the health hazard.  Click here to learn more about the dangers of sunscreens and some of the very healthiest sun products available.

A Great Life Generator

How much of our lives revolve around the sun cycle.  It is the great life generator.  To bask in its presence, to sync with its cycle, is a foundational reality and an affordable way to stay healthy.
